Garth Brooks has returned to the stage after being accused of sexual assault and battery by a makeup artist in a new lawsuit filed Thursday.
According to the lawsuit obtained by CNN, the unidentified woman referred to as “Jane Roe” claims she started as a hairstylist and makeup artist for Brooks’ wife, Trisha Yearwood in 1999. Brooks hired her for the same role in 2017, according to the lawsuit.
It alleges Brooks violently raped her in a Los Angles hotel room in May 2019 where he was taping a tribute performance for the Grammys.
Amid the news of the lawsuit, Brooks took to X (formerly Twitter) and Instagram to share a photo of the crowd at his latest concert.
“If there was ever a night that I really needed this, TONIGHT was that night! Thank you for my life!!!!! love, g,”(sic) he captioned the post in the early hours of Friday morning.
