A golden retriever’s way of begging his owner for treats has left viewers online in stitches.
The dog was captured snarling and staring at his owner, who is known online as Ali Marie, in an endearing attempt to be fed. A viral video of the pup’s tactic, posted to TikTok under the account @oakley_and_rusty, has racked up over 272,000 views and more than 31,000 likes since it was shared on September 30.
TikTok users were able to see the dog facing his owner while laying on their lap with his teeth bared. He stared intently at them, trying to persuade them to share their food.
The post had been captioned: “He makes it ALMOST impossible to say no.”
In the comments section, the dog’s owner reassured viewers that he and his canine siblings are well cared for.
“I promise you guys I do share my snacks with the boys,” @oakley_and_rusty wrote.

Golden retrievers are, according to the American Kennel Club (AKC), outgoing, trustworthy, and eager-to-please, making them one of the most popular dog breeds in the United States. Their playful nature often leads to charming antics like the snack-begging performance which has gained significant attention online.
TikTok users shared their amusement at the dog’s unique way of asking for extra food in the comments section. Several voiced how much they can, as dog owners, relate to the owner’s ordeal of having to handle their dog’s sneaky way of guilt tripping them.
“I’ll just wait here in case you change your mind,” @patriciaknowssocial wrote.
@letscheckitoutt added: “Has this same conversation with my lab a few hours ago.”
A third user, @prettyme1451, posted: “Too weak not to give in with that kind of look.”
