After making his regular fast food order, Michael Spencer found himself the recipient of an extraordinary bounty of Taco Bell sauces.

Craving a Taco Bell, Spencer, who lives in Melbourne, Florida, asked for two tacos and a steak quesadilla—unaware that the order would turn into a story that has delighted the internet.

When it arrived, having made his usual request for some extra sauces, he found a staggering 148 sauce packets inside.

Taco Bell offers a wide range of sauces to accompany their food. These include hot sauces like the diablo sauce, fire sauce, hot sauce, mild sauce, very mild sauce, red sauce, spicy ranch, chipotle sauce and breakfast salsa. They also offer some lighter, creamier sauces like the avocado ranch or creamy jalapeño sauce.

Michael Spencer

Most standard sauces are included at no extra cost, but customers can usually expect to see a handful of sauce packets with their order, rather than hundreds.

Spencer shared his amusing experience in the Facebook group Dull Men’s Club, a group with 1.2 million members that claims to be a space to “discuss the joy to be found in everyday, mundane, dull things.”

With a picture of each sauce packet carefully laid out, Spencer’s post took off, gaining thousands of reactions and comments.

“I ordered my usual from Taco Bell today — two tacos and a steak quesadilla with 10 fire packets because I’m a creature of habit and never change my order,” Spencer explained in his post. “When the food was delivered to my door step this evening, I was greeted with 143 sauce packets (minus the 5 I ate) which I counted and organized into their heat categories and then by their statements on the packet.”

“I didn’t request the amount of sauces; it was more of a surprise than anything,” Spencer told Newsweek. Thankfully, the sauces haven’t gone to waste as he explained: “I have brought them to work now. I kept some for myself and left the rest in the break room for other employees.”

Spencer’s post inspired a flurry of comments from fellow members of Facebook’s Dull Men’s Club. Tiffany Holland quipped: “Someone at Taco Bell likes you, hahaha,” while Bryan Harris joked: “You must’ve beaten the game!” Døug Dryer said he generally has the opposite issue: “I can’t even get them to give me one sauce.”

While Facebook user Toria Odahel-Babb commented: “This. This is beautiful.”

Newsweek reached out to Taco Bell via email for comment.
