Bono may have accepted an award from Sean “Diddy” Combs, but he had no interest in accepting a kiss from the now-disgraced rapper.

After Diddy, 54, was charged with multiple sex crimes, his digital archives of him have been dug up, resulting in the discovery of many uncomfortable moments between the “I’ll Be Missing You” singer and other celebrities.

In a resurfaced video from the 2014 Golden Globe Awards, Diddy presented U2 the award for best original song for “Ordinary Love” and attempted to kiss lead singer Bono (real name Paul David Hewson) on the cheek. Usher and Kate Beckinsale also joined Diddy on stage to present the award.

In the clip, Usher handed Bono the trophy while a grinning Diddy intercepted Bono with a hug; Bono reciprocated, but quickly pulled away after Diddy seemingly tried to kiss him on the cheek. Bono then joined his bandmates at the microphone to accept the award while Diddy was whisked offstage by Beckinsale.

Fans took to X (formerly known as Twitter) to share their opinions on the uncomfortable attempt.

“Hmmmmmmm a little too close for comfort,” one user commented.

“Notice how Bono has the hostesses take Diddy away, like NOW,” a fan commented, referring to Beckinsdale guiding Diddy off the stage.

“Diddy is going down like hell,” another person stated.

However, a source told Page Six that the encounter “simply was an awkward moment.” The situation must not have fazed either man too much, as they were photographed together at the afterparty that same night.

This clip of Diddy and Bono is one of many interactions that now seem concerning in light of the charges against the musician.

In September, the internet went wild after a 2011 interview with Diddy and Justin Bieber on Jimmy Kimmel Live! resurfaced. In the clip, the music mogul told Kimmel, “he [Bieber] knows better than to be talking about the things that he does with Big Brother Puff on national television.” Bieber, now 30, was 17 at the time. A video from 2009 posted to Bieber’s YouTube channel where Diddy says he has “custody” over the then 15-year-old was also a recent cause for concern.

Diddy is awaiting trial at Brooklyn’s Metropolitan Detention Center. The charges against him include sex trafficking and racketeering. Recently, an additional 120 individuals came forward accusing him of sex crimes. Diddy’s attorney, Marc Agnifilo, said the rapper plans to testify in court.
