Charlotte “Bowie” Drozd, the daughter of Steven Drozd, a member of the iconic rock band The Flaming Lips, has been reported missing in Seattle, prompting concern from her family and friends.

Charlotte Drozd was last spotted on October 5 at 11:30 a.m. aboard the monorail near the Seattle Space Needle, possibly heading to Seattle’s downtown area.

The rocker’s daughter is described as a 16-year-old white female, approximately 5 feet, 7 inches tall and weighing around 130 pounds. She has brown hair and brown eyes, according to The Flaming Lips’ X, formerly Twitter, post on Monday afternoon.

Newsweek reached out to the Seattle Police Department, which confirmed, according to the police report, that Charlotte Drozd is still classified as a missing or runaway juvenile. A detective from the Missing Persons Unit has been assigned to investigate her case.

Anyone with information should contact the police department at 205-625-5011 or reach out to Becky Drozd at 405-831-6795.

In 2023, the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) assisted with 28,886 cases of missing children, including young adults aged 18 to 20. Of those cases, 3,580 remained active while 25,306 were resolved.

In Washington state, a total of 1,331 children were reported missing, with 1,247 successfully located and 84 cases currently active.

Runaway children account for the majority of missing child cases reported to NCMEC. These vulnerable children face significant risks, including homelessness, gang involvement, and child sex trafficking. Family abductions, the second most common type of case, have been shown through decades of research to inflict serious harm on child victims and their families.
