Fantasy Football: Buy-Low Trade Targets Ahead of Week 6
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

With the fantasy football regular season nearing its halfway point, it’s time for fantasy owners to make some trades that will aid a late season push.

If you’re a fantasy manager with a winning record through five weeks, you’re in a great position to sell high on some of your players, while buying low on some of the biggest stars who have struggled.

Here are a handful of players to target that you could buy low on, especially if they’re on a fantasy team with a losing record.

The Dolphins are great buy-low options in fantasy football.

1. Tyreek Hill, WR, Miami Dolphins

It’s almost unthinkable that Hill would be on this list, but since Tua Tagovailoa went down in Week 2, he’s been borderline unplayable. After securing 26 PPR fantasy points in Week 1, Hill has accrued just 34.7 fantasy points over the last four weeks combined.

The Dolphins have a bye in Week 6, meaning a fantasy team with a losing record and plenty of byes could be looking to move on from their first-round pick for more win-now players.

With Tagovailoa potentially coming back as soon as Week 8, this is the perfect time to add Hill to your roster.

Bonus buy-low trade target: Dolphins running back De’Von Achane, who, like Hill, has struggled since Tagovailoa went down. He’s one of the most explosive running backs in the NFL, and could finish as a top five running back if Tagovailoa comes back in Week 8.

2. Davante Adams, WR, Las Vegas Raiders

The Davante Adams owner in your league has to be getting pretty frustrated about his 2024 season. Now is the perfect time to take advantage.

Adams didn’t play in Weeks 4 or 5, and he’s unlikely to suit up in Week 6. The next time he suits up will likely be for a new team, and there’s a chance he reunites with a quarterback he has familiarity with in Aaron Rodgers or Derek Carr.

This is the best time to get him as frustration has likely reached an all-time high for fantasy owners. He could be a league winner in the second half of the season.

3. Tank Dell, WR, Houston Texans

With Nico Collins now on injured reserve and out for at least the next month, Dell is my favorite player to target.

Dell is going to be the No. 2 wide receiver in an explosive offense, and will now get a similar target share as he had in 2023, when he broke out for 47 catches, 709 yards, and seven touchdowns.

Dell is a great option to start in your flex — and considering he currently ranks as WR72, it shouldn’t be too difficult to land him.

Bonus Buy-Low Trade Targets for 4-1 or 5-0 Teams:

If you’re in a fortunate spot of being 4-1 or 5-0, this is the perfect time to add players who are currently on injured reserve.

Christian McCaffrey, Cooper Kupp, and Puka Nacua could all be savvy additions to a roster, as they should be back in the second half of the regular season, just in time for fantasy football playoffs.

If you’re into gambles, all three of these guys could pay off big time at the end of the year.
