Family Buys New Home, Quickly Discovers Something Not on the Listing
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

A family who moved into a new home found a crucial and unexpected part of the house that wasn’t included on the listing, but the new residents weren’t at all upset by the discovery.

Homeowner Kyla, known on Instagram as @wanderlustkyla, shared in an April 25 video that this undisclosed feature of the house quickly became the “best part” of the family’s new home. Although it wasn’t advertised in the listing, it might’ve been for the best, as it would have driven the price up.

In the clip, Kyla quickly shows part of the fenced-in backyard with her child enjoying the swing set. But even the child’s smile grew when the footage moved from the swing set to the best part of the yard: a hole in a random spot along the fence. The previous owner said the hole was there because of a sump pump, but now that hole serves as the perfect spot for the neighbor’s dog, Stewie.

The dog happily stuck his head through the fence to introduce himself while the family investigated this undisclosed feature. It became clear this hole was Stewie’s lookout where he could poke his head through, keeping tabs on his neighbors. They didn’t realize it was there before moving it, but they haven’t minded Stewie’s check-ins. In fact, they have plans on turning it into a door for him.

The Instagram video included clips from different moments of Stewie saying hello to the family. His snoot showing up through the fence at first surprised the family but they have fully embraced him since. Both the child and Stewie jump for joy when seeing each other. However, the cat seems a little hesitant.

She said in the comment section that the hole was apparently there before Stewie moved in. And while not originally installed for him, he’s quickly learned to use it to his advantage, getting attention from whoever lives next door.

Newsweek reached out to @wanderlustkyla via Instagram for additional comment.

Instagram users became instantly obsessed with the home’s incredible and unexpected fence feature, bringing in over 761,000 views and nearly 80,000 likes.

“You’re lucky it wasn’t in the listing, otherwise the bidding would have skyrocketed!” commented a viewer, which was confirmed by another user who wrote: “I would pay well over asking for that feature!!!”

A third person added: “STEWIE!!!! Should’ve been the first thing on the listing”

Someone suggested: “Paint a flower so Stewie can be a flower!!!!”
