Matthew McConaughey’s son Levi is set to make his debut as an actor and his dad is here to offer some advice.
Levi and his father were spotted on the set of Way of the Warrior Kid, where McConaughey, 54, was seemingly offering the blossoming actor some pointers and words of encouragement.
Eyewitnesses at Mission Beach in San Diego told TMZ that the young actor was visibly nervous while getting ready to film a scene, when they then saw him turn to his father for advice. The witnesses added that the Academy Award-winning actor gave Levi a loving tap on the shoulder, offered some words of advice and encouragement, and sent his boy on his way to do his job.

The True Detective star opened up about the possibility that his children could one day take up his line of work in an interview with Entertainment Tonight from November 2020. “Look, I want them to do whatever it is they’re fashioned to do. Whatever they have an innate ability to do, and are willing to put in the work to get better at it. Whatever that is, I want them to do that. If that becomes something in the industry that I’m in? Bravo,” he said.
McConaughey shares three children with his spouse, Camila Alves. The two welcomed their oldest, Levi, in 2008; Vida, 14, in 2010; and Livingston, 11, in 2012. Alves, 41, and the Texas native got engaged in 2011 and tied the knot on June 9, 2012.
Levi’s involvement in the movie – which is an adaptation of Jocko Willink’s book – was announced on September 1. Despite being cast in a supporting role, the teen will be joining a star-studded cast that includes Linda Cardellini, Jude Hill, and Ava Torres, with Chris Pratt as the lead.
