For decades, Martha Stewart has been known as a homemaker, sharing recipes and home organization tips through various platforms. But despite becoming a household name, things weren’t always perfect at home.
In a preview for her upcoming Netflix documentary, Martha, the film’s namesake, 83, admitted that she had an affair during her marriage to Andrew Stewart. During a sound bite taken from the documentary’s trailer, Martha offers women viewers some sound advice.
“Young women, listen to my advice: If you’re married and your husband starts to cheat on you, he’s a piece of s**t,” she said. “Get out of that marriage.”

A producer then asks “Didn’t you have an affair early on?,” to which she replies “Yeah, but I don’t think Andy ever knew about that.”
Martha and Andrew were married from 1961 to 1990, before divorcing. They were said to have had a rocky marriage and Jerry Oppenheimer even claimed that both of them had affairs in an 1997 unauthorized biography.
Though Martha doesn’t offer any further explanation as to what led her to her affair in the clip, fans may be able to learn more upon Martha‘s premiere.
The documentary will also dive into Martha’s long career, as she is the self-proclaimed “first influencer.” She will also offer insight on how she’s stayed in the limelight so long as a staple in the realm of cooking and homemaking.
Martha will also take viewers back to Martha’s infamous arrest and prison sentence for insider trading, and take a look at how she was able to bounce back.
Additionally, the trailer teases a look at Martha’s famous thirst traps, as well as her adorable friendship with rapper Snoop Dogg — with whom she once co-hosted a cooking show.
Martha is set to premiere on Netflix on Wednesday, October 30.
