A subtle gesture from Major League Baseball to honor their recent guest Taylor Swift has gone viral.
On Monday night, Swift and her boyfriend, Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce, were spotted enjoying a date night at New York’s Yankee Stadium as they sat in a suite to watch the first game of the ALCS between the Yankees and Cleveland Guardians. The A-list pair were joined by comedian Jerrod Carmichael.
Keen not to miss a chance to pay tribute to Swift enjoying their sport, the Major League Baseball X, formerly Twitter, page uploaded a video of the happy couple enjoying their evening.

The Major League Baseball later paid tribute to the singer with an X post that went viral.

The video was captioned “Welcome to New York, Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce!” “Welcome to New York” is a 2014 song that featured on Swift’s fifth studio album 1989.
At the time of writing, the Major League Basketball video has received more than 1 million views.
However, the comments were a mixed bag, with some fans loving Swift and Kelce’s appearance at the game, and others saying they took away from the contest.
Some of the comments celebrated Swift and Kelce’s appreciation for the game.
“Taylor and Travis bring the star power to the field,” wrote one social-media user.
“Nice. They’re showing support and enjoying the game,” posted another.
However, many baseball fans appeared to show little love lost for the power couple, arguing that the MLB should stick to the game.
“Trying to boast those ratings I see,” was one comment from an X user.
“Quit glazing these people and stick to baseball” and “they’re already on TV enough in football, we don’t need them here too” were other remarks from baseball fans.
Since she began dating Kelce, Swift has become a regular fixture at many of his Kansas City Chiefs games.
On October 7, Swift cheered on Kelce from a suite as the Kansas City Chiefs triumphed over the New Orleans Saints at Arrowhead Stadium, Kansas City. The couple were then spotted cozying up at a postgame party. Swift has been at all of Kelce’s home games this season.
Though football is Kelce’s trade, the star pair do have a bit of a history with baseball.
In 2008, Swift sang the national anthem before Game 3 of the World Series between the Tampa Bay Rays and the Philadelphia Phillies, and, last year, Kelce threw out the first pitch for the Guardians at one of their games.
Swift and Kelce have spent lots of time in New York City recently. Over the weekend, the power couple were spotted on a double date with married actors Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds at The Corner Store restaurant in Soho.
For the double date, Swift wore a black-and-nude corset with a black miniskirt. She finished off the look with a beige coat, black boots and a Dior black saddle bag.
