A golden retriever was the picture of relaxation in a sweet video captured by his owner, until his nap was interrupted by a bee.
Reedy the retriever is a much-loved family pet, with his owner documenting day-to-day life with the pup on his dedicated TikTok account, @runreedyrun.
The account shows Reedy getting ready for bed, going for walks, giving puppy-eyes for table scraps and hanging out on the deck at their home.
Now one video of the sweet retriever has gone viral, as it shows the pet’s blissful nap getting interrupted by a bee buzzing close by.
In the clip, shared on September 29, which now has over 400,000 views, Reedy lies on a comfortable bed in the sunshine, slowly drifting off to sleep with a smile on his face.
But things weren’t to be, as his owner wrote on the clip: “POV: You’re trying to take a sweet video of your dog enjoying the sun when he suddenly encounters a bee.”
As Reedy drifts off, the smile suddenly drops from his face, his ears flick upwards, and his eyes open. He starts watching something buzzing around near the deck, sniffs the air and looks utterly confused.
The short but sweet clip proved popular on the app, with close to 30,000 likes, as users flooded the comment section, with one pointing out: “The way he looks offended by the mere presence of the bee interrupting his sunshine.”
“The eye brow raises,” another laughed, while one said: “I love his expressions and his little paws are just like gyozas.”
“He’s so expressive! Such a cutie,” another said, and as one put it: “Nothing sweeter than a golden.”
One user referenced Reedy’s sniffs as he was interrupted from his nap, as she wrote: “Never in my life have I wondered what a bee smells like, but seeing him sniff the air makes me now really want to know.”

Golden retrievers like Reedy have long been a popular family pet, thanks to their loyalty and affectionate nature, and being good with young children. In 2023, they were named the third most-popular dog breed in the US by the American Kennel Club, behind the French bulldog and Labrador retriever.
