Kayla Nicole apparently regrets her candor.
On the Tuesday, October 15, episode of I Am Athlete Daily, Kayla, 32, was joined by former professional football players Martellus Bennett and Brandon Marshall for a conversation about “mastering the media.” In the interview, Nicole broke down in tears seemingly over her comments regarding her relationship with ex-boyfriend Travis Kelce and the Kansas City Chiefs wives and girlfriends on the Thursday, October 10, episode of Angel Reese’s podcast, Unapologetically Angel.
“Looking back on my decisions, even recently, sitting down and doing a podcast, I felt like there were moments where I articulated myself in a really good way, and there were moments if I could go back, I would maybe change the way that I said things because it didn’t fully embody my character or my heart, but that’s something I’m learning,” Kayla began.

Travis Kelce and girlfriend, Kayla Nicole, arrive to the NFL Honors show at the YouTube Theater on February 10, 2022 in Inglewood, California. In a recent interview, the model cried about how she was a little too candid on Angel Reese’s ‘Unapologetically Angel’ podcast.

The sports journalist admitted she has only recently begun to recognize the “power” her words hold. “I think what I am discovering is the power of my words and the power of my influence. I don’t think I was aware of that before,” Kayla remarked. She then said her “spicy” personality could be “perceived in a million different ways.”
Teary-eyed, the social media star explained she wants to give less of herself to the public in the future, as things don’t get taken the way she always means. “I think it’s in my nature to be myself and to lead with myself and to give all of myself, and people don’t deserve that because it’s not going to always be received in the intent that I mean for it to be received,” the model stated. “I don’t have control over public perception.”
The influencer shared that she did not care about what the public was saying after the episode aired, but she was more affected when her mom brought it up. “After the podcast came out, I thought that I handled things with grace, I thought that I answered the questions to the best of my ability. The public had their interpretation of things — didn’t matter to me,” Kayla confessed. “My mom calls me though, and it’s those conversations … that’s what matters to me, because she’s offended, she’s hurt by the way people are perceiving her daughter, she’s hurt with the negative headlines and the way that people are spinning it. Even my mom was like, ‘Maybe next time, we don’t answer those questions,’ and it’s as simple as that. Don’t give it any energy. You don’t have to always respond.”
Kayla was in an on-again-off-again relationship with the Kansas City Chiefs tight end from 2017 to 2022. Kelce, 35, is now dating pop star Taylor Swift. On the podcast episode, Reese asked Kayla if “negativity” from the 14-time Grammy winner’s fans has “affected” her, to which she answered, “I would be lying if I said that that level of hate and just, like, online chaos didn’t impact me, it does. Even to this day.”
