A golden retriever has captured hearts online for literally not hurting a fly that landed on his paw.
Gentle dog Buley lay quietly observing the insect as it crawled across his fur rather than eating it or swatting it away.
Rebecca Creelman, known on TikTok as @cheeseburgerchaser, shared the adorable clip of her pet, captioning it “Is your dog friendly?”
“He wouldn’t hurt a fly,” she wrote under the video, which has since racked up 240,200 likes and 1.8 million views.
“He is extremely calm and loving for the most part but very playful and full of energy when he is within reach of my seven-year-old son,” Creelman, from Prince Edward Island, Canada, told Newsweek.
She said one-year-old Buley has become an emotional anchor for Creelman’s son Declan, who has been diagnosed with autism.

“Declan has always seemed to self-stimulate and play by himself rather than with others, which is why I made the decision to get him a dog,” she said.
“My initial plan with Buley was to look into training for service or therapy work. However he has already proven to be the perfect addition to our family as is. My son gained his first best friend out of Buley.”
The dog’s calm demeanor and affectionate nature have also aided others. Creelman, who works in home care, occasionally brings her pet along on patient visits.
“Buley really knows how to brighten up a person’s day,” she added.
Creelman named Buley in tribute to a beloved senior couple she once cared for who died a month apart, both aged 89. “Buley has truly lived up to his name thus far,” she said.
Golden retrievers are known for their gentle and friendly dispositions, which make them a popular choice for families with children, especially those with autism.

According to AngelSense, a company that provides technology to help keep people with special needs safe, the breed is particularly well-suited to providing companionship to children with autism thanks to their loyalty, patience, and affectionate nature.
TikTok viewers couldn’t get enough of Buley’s angelic behavior. “I don’t know why but he reminds me of winnie the pooh,” one person commented.
Another viewer wrote: “First time I have a visual of the term ‘wouldn’t hurt a fly.'”
And another user summed it up perfectly, saying: “Every golden is an angel trapped in a dog.”
