Simone Biles and USA Women’s Gymnastics have officially won gold in the team all-around final in the 2024 Paris Olympics.
USA took the gold while Italy won silver and Brazil won the bronze. For Italy, it’s their first medal since the 1928 Amsterdam Olympics. For Brazil, it’s their time ever medaling in this event.
As for the USA, this win comes after they finished with the silver in the Tokyo 2021 Olympics to Russia. Biles left those Olympics in the final due to suffering from the twisties.
This team has four of the same gymnasts from the Tokyo team — Biles, Suni Lee, Jade Carey, Jordan Chiles — and have been called the “Redeem Team.”
They’ve officially secured redemption.
