Vice President Kamala Harris is currently leading former President Donald Trump in the polls in a 46% to 43% lead, according to a new Reuters/Ipsos poll that closed Monday. Last week in a similar Reuters/Ipsos poll, Harris held a 45% to 42% lead, which demonstrated the tightness of the race thus far, and like this week’s poll, showed Harris’s lead within the margin of error. Approximately 70% of the registered voters surveyed expressed that their cost of living was not improving, while 60% indicated that they believed the economy was moving in the wrong direction, and 65% felt the same way about immigration policy. Voters expressed that the economy and immigration, along with threats to democracy, were the most pressing issues facing the nation. When asked about which candidate had a more effective strategy on these matters, Trump was ahead on the economy with 46% compared to 38% and on immigration with 48% against 35%.

Music icon Bruce Springsteen will headline Vice President Kamala Harris’s inaugural joint rally with former President Barack Obama in Atlanta on Thursday, launching a series of concerts in key swing states.
Springsteen announced his endorsement for Harris earlier this month in a video taped from a diner in Freehold, New Jersey.
“Perhaps not since the Civil War has this great country felt as politically, spiritually, and emotionally divided as it does at this moment,” Springsteen said. “It doesn’t have to be this way. [Kamala Harris and Tim Walz] are committed to a vision of this country that respects and includes everyone, regardless of class, religion, race, your political point of view or sexual identity, and they want to grow the economy in a way that benefits all, not just a few like me. On top, that’s the vision of America I’ve been consistently writing about for 55 years.”

Campaign tracker: Where the candidates will be today?
Donald Trump is holding a rally in Greensboro, North Carolina this evening, where he has focused his efforts in the aftermath of Hurricane Helene.
With 16 Electoral College votes, the same as Georgia, the Tar Heel State remains a must-win for Trump; his path to the winning 270-vote threshold becomes harder without it.
His running mate JD Vance is attending two rallies in Arizona, splitting the ticket between two crucial swing states.
Meanwhile Vice President Kamala Harris is sitting down with NBC News at the U.S. Naval Observatory in Washington, D.C. tonight, followed by an interview with Telemundo’s Julio Vaqueiro.
Gov. Tim Walz will join Barack Obama at a campaign event this afternoon in Madison, Wisconsin. Later this evening he will appear at a rally in Racine, Wisconsin.
