THEME: A Bold Vision for America’s Future
Tuesday’s theme is “A Bold Vision for America’s Future,” a day that is being framed not just as Kamala Harris versus Donald Trump, but “a choice between two very different visions of America.”
“While Donald Trump believes our best days are behind us, Kamala Harris and Tim Walz know the best days lie ahead,” the Harris campaign said in a statement. “Standing in stark contrast to the Trump-Vance Project 2025 agenda designed to take us backwards, the Harris-Walz ticket presents a brighter vision where everyone will have a chance not just to get by, but to get ahead.”
In the daytime, several caucus meetings are being held, including the Women’s Caucus Meeting, the Youth Caucus Meeting, the Rural Caucus Meeting, the Veteran and Military Families Council Meeting and the Interfaith Council Meeting, among others.

The DNC Won’t Only Feature Speeches By Democrats
The Harris campaign announced Tuesday that several Republican leaders will also offer remarks in Chicago, including former U.S. Rep. Adam Kinzinger of Illinois, former Georgia Lt. Gov. Geoff Duncan, and the mayor of Mesa, Arizona, John Giles.
Also speaking are former Trump White House staffers Olivia Troye, a former national security official, and Stephanie Grisham, who was a White House press secretary.
Grisham said she knows Harris will “defend our freedoms and represent our nation with honesty and integrity.”
“I never thought I’d be speaking at a Democratic convention,” she said in a statement. “But, after seeing firsthand who Donald Trump really is, and the threat he poses to our country, I feel very strongly about speaking out.”

After an opening night of festivities that went well past midnight, the Democratic National Convention resumes Tuesday with highly anticipated appearances from Barack and Michelle Obama and a “bold vision” for a Harris presidency.

“I made a commitment to you that I would be a president for all Americans, whether you voted for me or not. We have done that,” Biden said while clarifying that “we” was in reference to him and Vice President Kamala Harris.
