The Dallas Cowboys lost an important matchup to the San Francisco 49ers on Sunday Night Football. Instead of the team moving to 4-3, they dropped to 3-4, losing with a final score of 30-24.

Following the loss, Cowboys star cornerback Trevon Diggs went in on a reporter who questioned his effort after the game. The reporter appeared to have asked Diggs about his effort during a particular play, resulting in the cornerback answering back in a very upset manner.

Reporter: “We can talk about it more…?”
Diggs: “Talk about deez nuts.”

“That’s what you took from that whole play? You don’t know football. You can’t do nothing that I do. You can’t go out there and do nothing. Stay in your lane, buddy. Stop playing with me bro,” Diggs stated to the reporter.
The reporter then doubles down and states, “I’m just asking a question, Trevon. I’d be happy to have you answer the question.”

Diggs then returns and reiterates his original question. “From that whole play, that is what you got from that?”
Diggs then begins to walk away when the reporter asks one more time, “We can talk about it more.” Diggs answered with, “Talk to deez nuts.”
Despite Diggs not being able to catch a receiver or whatever the reporter perceived as what occurred in that particular play, it is a bit wild that the reporter would question a professional play in such a manner. NFL players are out there putting their bodies on the line, and sometimes their efforts or plays do not go a intended.
Tensions are certainly high for the Cowboys, who are now falling behind in the NFC East division. The Washington Commanders are in first place with a 6-2 record, followed by the Philadelphia Eagles, who are in second place with a 5-2 record.
The Cowboys falling to 3-4 places them three games behind the Commanders. Both the Commanders and Eagles are looking like they could be tough to deal with in 2024.
Last night’s defeat is also another frustrating aspect for the Cowboys, who can not seem to beat the 49ers. Dallas is 0-4 in their last four matchups, dating back to the 2022 season.

Diggs has been one of the best corners in the league, and he is coming off a torn ACL that he suffered in early 2023. Before the injury, he led the league in 2021 with 11 interceptions and was named a Pro Bowler and All-Pro. He followed that up with a strong 2022 season, that also led to a Pro Bowl nod.
The 49ers are a tough team to deal with for any defense, given their many weapons. Diggs may have missed a big play, but he is still one of the best secondary players in the league.
