Donald Trump Claims Fox Wants to Change His Commercials
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

Former President Donald Trump is lashing out against Fox News for allegedly attempting to “change and weaken” his 2024 presidential campaign commercials.

On Monday, Trump complained in a post to Truth Social that the conservative-leaning news network was busy “promoting” Vice President Kamala Harris and other Democrats instead of him.

“FoxNews spends far too much time promoting the Democrats, their surrogates, and their agenda,” Trump wrote. “Today I watched, over and over again, an angry and totally out of control Michelle Obama trying to save the dying Campaign of Comrade Kamala Harris.”

The former president then asserted that he was leading in Michigan polls “by a lot,” despite an overwhelming majority of polls showing that the race is deadlocked both nationally and in the battleground states, including Michigan.

“I’m leading in Michigan, by a lot, because of great support from Autoworkers, Arab Americans, Jewish Americans, and all other Patriots,” Trump wrote. “But Fox refuses to put up those Polls.”

He went on to argue that Fox News “plays more negative commercials and ads promoting the other side than is even imaginable,” before suggesting that his ads were being singled out by the network.

“Our ads on FoxNews are always a big deal to negotiate (They want us to change and weaken our content!), but we put them up on CNN and MSDNC with no problems or changes,” Trump wrote. “It’s hard to believe I’m leading by so much!”

Newsweek reached out by email for comment to Fox News on Monday.

Released polls do not show that Trump has a large lead over Harris in Michigan. Instead, recent surveys show the contest is even or the candidates are trading small leads. An average of recent polls compiled by polling analysis site FiveThirtyEight showed Harris with a tiny 0.3 percent lead in the state as of Monday.

Other swing state polls reveal a similar picture, with Harris and Trump statistically tied in the bulk of all battleground polls. While Trump has made some recent gains, polling in the election is also very close nationally. Harris was leading the FiveThirtyEight average on Monday by a slim 1.4 percent.

Fox News is widely considered to be a favorable media outlet for Trump and other Republicans. However, Monday was far from the only time that the former president has bashed the network for supposedly favoring his political opponents and giving them too much attention.

Earlier this month, Trump raged on Truth Social shortly after Ian Sams, a senior spokesperson for the Harris campaign, made an appearance on Fox News. The ex-president insisted that his critics are “lunatics” who “get away with absolute murder” on the network.
