A helpful dog has left the internet in stitches by assisting his owner with DIY.
In a viral TikTok video shared to the pet’s account (@delilahgsp), Delilah wears a head torch and a pair of safety glasses, becoming the perfect sidekick as she illuminates her owner’s handiwork.
The clip, which garnered 2.7 million likes and 17.2 million views, shows the man hammering a wall then turning to the German short-haired pointer for extra light.
“Light up here, please,” he instructs, and Delilah obediently turns her head to shine the beam exactly on the spot.

For dog owners and DIY enthusiasts alike, the video was a charming reminder of how pets love to be part of everything—even projects that can be noisy or chaotic.
While DIY work can be stressful for pets, there are ways to make it a safe and enjoyable experience. According to home and garden website Room for Tuesday, creating a calm environment during home improvement is essential. Dogs are creatures of habit, so sudden noises, new people and unusual smells can leave them feeling unsettled.
To help them cope, it’s crucial to provide a “safe zone” where they can retreat if things get too overwhelming, ideally a familiar room with their bed, favorite toys and maybe even a treat.
Keeping dogs occupied with interactive toys or long-lasting chews during intense DIY sessions can also prevent them from becoming too curious about potentially dangerous tools.
