The moment a pregnant woman was given a serious shock by what she saw on her porch has left people in stitches.
TikTok user Winnie, who posts as @iwinnieeexi, shared the moment she was startled as she got up early to head out to work. As she walked out of the front door and toward the porch, Winnie was scared by an Amazon driver who was doing an overnight delivery—something she had completely forgotten she ordered.
The text overlay on the video read: “POV [point of view]: You forget you selected for Amazon overnight delivery.” Newsweek reached out to @iwinnieeexi via TikTok for comment.
As the driver quietly approached the porch to leave the package and placed it down, Winnie stepped out of the door and let out a surprised bloodcurdling scream, before bursting into laughter when she realized who it was.
As the man backed away with his hands up, Winnie giggled and said, “That scared me,” before apologizing to the driver for the loud interruption. In the caption of the video, Winnie added: “It was 5am and I was on my way to work.”
After thousands of views on TikTok, viewers were quick to share their reactions to the shock delivery.
“That probably happens more often than people think lol [laugh out loud],” Cheshire posted, while viewer Ash wrote: “It’s the terror scream for me.”
Others wrote that they had similar experiences of their own, like LyndZ, who commented: “I’ve done this to doordashers before. Legit screamed louder than I ever have in their faces. I felt so bad.”

The Rise of Amazon’s Speedy Deliveries
The surprise moment is an example of how popular fast deliveries have become. Nearly 60 percent of Prime orders in the top 60 U.S. metro areas arrived the same or next day, and in July 2024, Amazon reported they made more than 5 billion same-day or next-day deliveries so far that year, up more than 30 percent.
This increase was mostly attributed to Amazon’s recent expansion of its same-day delivery service to over 120 metropolitan areas and its investment in local delivery networks, which help shorten travel distances for packages.
Amazon has also recently expanded its same-day fulfillment centers and collaborations with local businesses for last-mile deliveries. As a result, the chance of early-morning doorstep encounters is only rising.
