It’s that time of year when celebrities reveal their impressive Halloween costumes, showing off this year’s efforts on social media and at star-studded events across the country.
From Selena Gomez as Alice in Wonderland to M. Night Shyamalan as Heath Ledger’s Joker from The Dark Knight, Newsweek has rounded up some of the best outfits from 2024.
M. Night Shyamalan
On October 26, the filmmaker and actor threw a Halloween party titled “Shyamaween” in Philadelphia to benefit the M. Night Shyamalan Foundation. The foundation “supports the grassroots efforts of emerging leaders as they work to eliminate the barriers created by poverty and social injustice in their communities.”
He dressed up as Heath Ledger’s Joker, donning a nurse costume, green wig and the necessary makeup.
David Dobrik
YouTuber David Dobrik attended the same event, dressing up as a sailor. He was photographed wearing a sailor’s hat and a shirt with a sailor’s collar.

Vanderpump Rules star Tom Sandoval and girlfriend Victoria Lee Robinson dressed up as Ghostface and Casey Becker, played by Drew Barrymore in the 1996 horror film Scream.
The couple were attending the Pizza slime x Casamigos Halloween party in Beverly Hills, California, on October 26.
Selena Gomez and Benny Blanco
Gomez took to her Instagram account to show her joint costume with boyfriend Benny Blanco. The couple dressed up as characters from the 2010 film Alice in Wonderland, with Gomez as Alice, played by Mia Wasikowska and Blanco as the Mad Hatter, played by Johnny Depp in the remake.
The singer donned a powder blue dress and blond wig, while the record producer wore white face paint, a curly red wig and a top hat.
“Curiouser and curiouser,” Gomez captioned her carousel post on Instagram, which is a famous quote from the original book.
Zooey Deschanel and Jonathan Scott
Also taking to Instagram to share her costume, Deschanel uploaded photos of herself dressed as The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City‘s Angie Katsanevas, wearing the reality star’s outfit from when she went butter churning in Season 4.
Posing alongside her was her fiance Jonathan Scott from Property Brothers, who was dressed as Wolverine.
“If you know who I am we can be friends…” she wrote.
“OMG!!! Little Bo Greek is SHAKING in her Bonnet right now. Zooey I’m honored!!! You’re an icon. The Greek Mafia loves you,” Katsanevas commented, referring to the accusation made on the show that she was in the Greek mafia.
Nicola Peltz Beckham
Beckham, married to David and Victoria Beckham’s son Brooklyn Beckham, transformed herself into a Playboy bunny for Halloween.
For the occasion, she wore a black satin bodysuit, black bunny ears, gloves and a collar.
Lucy Hale
Actress Lucy Hale, known for the TV series Pretty Little Liars, donned a Lamb Chop costume alongside her two dogs. The sock puppet was originally brought to life by ventriloquist and puppeteer Shari Lewis for the children’s TV series Captain Kangaroo in March 1956.
“In honor of our Muse, lady lambchop,” she captioned her post on Instagram.
Sophie Turner
Game of Thrones star Sophie Turner donned latex to re-create Carrie-Anne Moss’ character Trinity from the 1999 sci-fi hit Matrix.
As seen in a carousel post to Instagram, the black PVC playsuit was completed with a belt, matching gloves and a pair of sunglasses.
“Red or blue pill,” she wrote.
Pixie Lott

She transformed herself into an Aperol spritz for the occasion, wearing an orange slice on her head and sitting in a human-sized glass and spritz.
Paris Hilton
Paris Hilton never holds back when it comes to getting into costume, and this year was no different.
She dressed up as Uma Thurman’s character Mia Wallace from Quentin Tarantino’s 1994 film Pulp Fiction. The socialite shared photos on Instagram of herself wearing a black wig, smoking a cigarette and holding a bedazzled gun.
“Serving Mia Wallace realness #ThatsHot #PulpFiction,” she captioned her post.
Christina Aguilera
Aguilera impressed her followers when she uploaded a series of photos of herself dressed up as Dracula.
Also taking to Instagram to show off her look, the “Dirrty” hitmaker wore an impressive wig, long nails and a tight corset. In some photos, she has fake blood dripping down her face and is wearing white eye contacts that make her look particularly spooky.
She teased that there is more Halloween content on its way, writing in the caption, “To be continued…”
Tallulah Willis
Tallulah Willis, daughter of Bruce Willis and Demi Moore, dressed up as a prawn from Moore’s new film, The Substance. In the film, Elisabeth Sparkle (played by Moore) is renowned for an aerobics show but is fired by her boss Harvey (Dennis Quaid) when she turns 50.
Early in the movie, there is a scene in which Elisabeth and Harvey are getting lunch. While Elisabeth doesn’t eat anything, Harvey stuffs himself with prawns in a scene that many have called disgusting.
“I was the prawn from that heinous @dennisquaid scene in @trythesubstance. DW [don’t worry] it was niche,” Willis wrote on Instagram.
Tyla
Showing her admiration for Halle Berry, South African singer Tyla dressed up as the actor’s character Sharon Stone in the Flintstones movie.
“Well I’ve been a very bad girl, but you have to admit… I was very verrrrry good at it,” she wrote, tagging the Hollywood star.
Berry gave her seal of approval as she commented on the post: “Too good.”
Halle Bailey
Tyla wasn’t the only celebrity to honor Berry with a Halloween costume this year. So did singer and actress Halle Bailey. She channeled Berry’s character, Jinx, from the 2002 James Bond film Die Another Day.
In the film, there is a scene where Jinx emerges from the ocean in an orange bikini with a white belt and a knife strapped to her side. This is the outfit Bailey replicated.
Halle Berry
Now it’s Berry’s turn. This year, she decided to celebrate Halloween and International Black Cat Day as a witch, with her real-life cat Coco by her side. She wore a purple velvet witch hat with a matching dress, with stars and moons etched into the fabric.
“No need for tricks when me and my little black kitty are the treat! Happy International Black Cat Day y’all!!” she captioned her carousel post.
Chloe Bailey
Bailey’s sister, fellow singer and actress Chloe Bailey, also shared her Halloween costume online. This year, she dressed up as Jessica Rabbit from the 1988 film Who Framed Roger Rabbit.
For the costume, she wore a red sequin dress, purple satin gloves and donned a red wig.
Megan Thee Stallion
For Halloween this year, Megan Thee Stallion transformed into Starfire, a superhero created as part of the Teen Titans comic books.
In a photo shoot she posted online, the rapper can be seen wearing a costume and a fiery red wig. She is also doing several action-hero poses in front of various backgrounds. It even got the attention of James Gunn, the co-CEO of DC Studios.
“Whoa. Cool,” he wrote on Instagram Threads, resharing the photos that Megan Thee Stallion posted.
G-Eazy
Rapper G-Eazy, born Gerald Earl Gillum, dressed up as Harry Potter for Halloween. He had a lightning-shaped scar on his forehead, wore the appropriate Hogwarts uniform and held a wand in photos uploaded online.
“Gerry Potter,” he captioned his carousel post, a play on his name.
Ashley Graham
Following the popularity of Beetlejuice Beetlejuice this year, a sequel to 1988’s Beetlejuice, model Ashley Graham transformed into Lydia Deetz from the first film in the franchise.
She shared pictures of herself wearing a black wig, a sparkly red gown and vampy makeup.
