Supreme Court to announce opinion on Friday in TikTok case
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

Washington The Supreme Court announced Thursday that opinions may be issued on Friday morning. This is a late addition to the schedule, just two days prior to a law which would ban TikTok.

A notice on the website stated that “the Court may announce opinions to the homepage starting at 10 am.” The notice did not specify what case might be decided. The Court will not sit on the bench.

TikTok would be cut off from U.S. apps stores and hosting services, if its parent company ByteDance in China is not cut off by a deadline on Sunday.

Last week, the Supreme Court appeared to be inclined to uphold the law after hearing arguments in relation to TikTok. The justices seemed to be sympathetic to claims by the government that China might use TikTok for spying on Americans and collecting a large amount of data.

This story is in progress and will be updated.
