A federal regulator posted a recall notice on Thursday for more than 1,000,000 Igloo rolling coolers sold by retailers such as Amazon, Costco, and Target. The recall follows 12 reports of fingertip injuries including amputations.
According to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, the tow handle of the Igloo 90 quart Flip & Tow Rolling Coolers can pinch the users’ fingers, posing amputation or crushing hazards.
According to the recall notice, Igloo Products Corp. of Katy, Texas, which manufactures the coolers has received 12 reports involving fingertip injuries. These include amputations as well as bone fractures and lacerations.
The recalled coolers were sold between January 2019 and January 2025, for between $80 to $140, in stores and online including Academy, Amazon Dick’s Costco, and Igloo Products.
The recalled coolers had a tow handle that said “IGLOO”, and they came in a variety of body and lid colors. Labels affixed at the bottom of each product have one of more than 50 model numbers. Check Here to see a complete list.
The company will provide a replacement handle for free to those who have the coolers that were recalled.
