College football Week 1 is well underway, and the first handful of days have not disappointed. Saturday’s slate of games was action-packed; however, since the NFL doesn’t start for another week, we still have two more days of college football, and they are set to live up to the hype.

While Saturday’s games were great, Sunday’s game, which will be played in Las Vegas, may be the best this weekend has to offer. The USC Trojans and the LSU Tigers will kick off their 2024 season in Vegas at Allegiant Stadium, home of the Las Vegas Raiders.

The matchup will be one worth watching, to say the least, and it’s an ideal way to continue the holiday weekend if you’re a college football fan. Before the ball gets kicked off at 4:30 p.m. PT, USC released one of the best hype videos you will see.
After two hours of posting this hype video, it has already taken off. It is worth your time, Trojan fan or not, if you haven’t watched it.
The matchup is set to be an all-timer as both programs are starting all over in a sense. USC will have junior quarterback Miller Moss, who will start for the second time in his college career and be the QB1 for the entire season. As for the Tigers, they will have Garrett Nussmeier, who will also step up into the starting role for the first time in his career for the entire season.
Both quarterbacks have big shoes to fill as they both replace former Heisman Trophy winners. Caleb Williams of USC won the prestigious Award in 2022, while Jayden Daniels of LSU won it in 2023. This is the second time an LSU player has won it in four years with Joe Burrow winning in 2019.
In addition, both of these head coaches, LSU’s Brian Kelly and USC’s Lincoln Riley, will enter their third season.
“These games are fun. I’ve been in a couple of these big ones early in the season,” said Riley. “They’re great because you look forward to it all offseason. It’s a great way to start the season. It’s a positive. In the first game, there’s always a sense of new excitement and waiting to see what you really are and what the opponent really is. I like playing a marquee game early. I like playing a really good opponent early. There’s a ton of positives. There’s been a momentum and an excitement about this that’s been building for a long time.”
USC enters the season ranked No. 23, while LSU comes into Sunday’s match ranked No. 13. BetMGM has the Tigers favored by -4.5.
