A critical special election is taking place on April 1st in Florida’s 6th Congressional District.

The race is between Democrat Joshua Weil and Republican Randy Fine.

Trump National Security Advisor Mike Waltz previously held the seat.

Donald Trump held a tele-rally with Randy Fine on Thursday.

Breitbart reported:

President Donald Trump urged voters in Florida’s Sixth Congressional District to get out and vote for Republican Randy Fine in a critical special House election during a tele-rally with the candidate on Thursday.

Trump urged those on the call to support Fine via early voting or in person on election day Tuesday, as Democrats try to flip the district in hopes of cutting into House Republicans’ already thin, 218-213-seat majority.

“We’re just a few days away from an all-important special election taking place in your state on Tuesday, April 1, and I’m asking you to get out and vote for a true American patriot, somebody I’ve gotten to know very well, Randy Fine,” Trump said.

“Early voting is underway and continues through this Saturday, so go vote early tomorrow or Saturday, or make plans to go on election day. The main thing is to go vote,” he added.

Republicans currently hold a 6.5-point advantage in early voting.

According to Florida Voice News, “Florida Republicans hope for a turnout advantage of over R+10 – preferably, R+12 or greater – to avoid catastrophe. That means they’ll need to gain 4-6 percentage points by the end of Tuesday night.”

FLVoiceNews reported:

That lead for the GOP has been slowly increasing as early voting continued this week.

As over 36,000 Republicans and 31,100 Democrats have voted, over 12,000 “no party affiliation” or “other party” voters have cast a ballot as well; that could conceivably position Weil for an upset victory if he performs with non-major party voters, and if Weil can perform better inside his own party than Fine with the GOP.

To feel comfortable, Florida Republicans hope for a turnout advantage of over R+10 – preferably, R+12 or greater – to avoid catastrophe. That means they’ll need to gain 4-6 percentage points by the end of Tuesday night.

This is a key election.
