He is currently under federal investigation for an alleged mortgage fraud.

Adam Schiff, a California Democrat facing a federal probe for alleged mortgage fraud, launched a legal defence fund. President Donald Trump has repeatedly condemned him for allegedly promoting “Russiagate” for years.
A spokeswoman for Schiff said to Fox News Digital that it was “clear” that Donald Trump and MAGA allies would continue weaponizing justice in order to attack Senator Schiff because he held this corrupt administration accountable. This fund will allow him to fight back against the baseless accusations while still doing his job.
According to the New York Times, the Internal Revenue Service received the “Senator Schiff Legal Defense Fund” on Thursday.
Trump and Schiff are political enemies that date back to Trump’s first term in office. Schiff, who was in the U.S. House of Representatives at the time, oversaw the 2020 first impeachment case against Trump for alleged abuses of power, obstruction of Congress and for continuously promoting the narrative of Trump’s 2016 election campaign colluding with Russia.
Adam Schiff is one of the most prominent proponents of the Russia collusion hysteria.
Schiff has stated on numerous occasions that “no one is above law.”
Schiff, as the ranking member of House Intelligence Committee hoped to implicate Donald Trump at the time in the so-called “Russian collusion” and lied about it.
Schiff tried to suppress the findings of then-chairman Rep. Devin Nunes, (R-CA), into the origins the Russia investigation. He also targeted Kash Patel as a key investigative — who is now the head of FBI.
Schiff, who was appointed chairman of the Committee, launched an investigation which would lead to Trump’s first impeachment. He lied to the public regarding his staff’s contacts with a “whistleblower” and then broke that promise. Schiff also invented a false legal right that the whistleblower could not be identified in public. He held secret hearings, leaked reports that were often the opposite of what happened and suppressed contrary testimony.
