In a national operation, over 600 people who had ties to the Sinaloa Cartel have been arrested.

Operation took place from August 25th to August 29th.

Total 617 arrests were made.


Fox News reported:

Officials say that a massive crackdown against the deadly Sinaloa Cartel culminated with more than 600 arrests.

According to officials, the big swoop involved 171 suspects from New England as part of an operation lasting a week that targeted one of world’s largest drug trafficking groups.

The Drug Enforcement Administration announced on Monday that agents from 23 field divisions across the U.S. arrested 617 individuals with ties to a cartel between Aug. 25 and 29.

The DEA-led enforcement operation, dubbed a surge, netted a huge haul of cash, drugs, and firearms.

Seized assets and cash worth millions of dollars

The police also seized hundreds of thousands and 420 guns.


News Nation reported:

Boston.com reported that the DEA had arrested 617 suspected between August 25 and 29, across the nation. Feds reported that they had seized 11 million dollars in cash and $1.6 million worth of assets. They also seized 420 firearms as well as hundreds of thousands counterfeit pills, fentanyl, cocaine, heroin, and 420 guns.

New England alone recovered nearly 245 kilograms (about 450 pounds) of drugs and $1.3 million (or 33 guns).
