Tammy Slaton of 1,000-Lb. Sisters is back posting on social media after her sister Amy Slaton’s arrest — though it’s not about what you think.

On Tuesday, September 3, the 38-year-old took to Instagram to give fans insight into her mental health journey. Though the TLC star was opening up, she gave no mention of Amy, 36, to fans’ dismay.

“I didn’t really have friends for a long time; my friends were my family. Watching my show helped me realize I wasn’t good to them. I wasn’t a nice person,” the Kentucky native confessed on the 58-second Instagram reel. The YouTuber shared that talking through her problems versus keeping everything inside is the most productive way to improve herself.

“I realized that talking about things that are bothering me is the only way I’m going to get past my insecurities, especially when I’m mad,” Tammy admitted.

Tammy also explained how when she gets heated, it’s best to take a beat so she can process her emotions. “When I’m completely gone, it’s best to just leave me alone, let me figure stuff out on my own, at least try to, and then calm down and then approach the situation. It helps me to understand more of why I’m feeling the way I feel,” the influencer remarked.

Tammy added that she now realizes food and anger don’t have to be her emotional outlets, telling followers, “I don’t need to turn to food or anger or whatever to be happy and lose weight.” The reality star ended the clip by telling her fans, “I feel great about myself.”

The TV personality captioned the heartfelt video, “🌱 Embracing Growth🌱 A big part of growth is realizing where you can make changes, and I’m so glad I’m in that phase of my life. It’s not always easy, but recognizing areas for improvement is the first step toward becoming the best version of yourself. Here’s to self-reflection, growth, and embracing the journey ahead! 🌟.”

The video comes after Tammy’s sister Amy was arrested over Labor Day weekend for child endangerment and drug possession while at a Tennessee zoo. The Crockett County Sheriff’s Dept in Tennessee shared a Facebook post regarding the incident.

According to that post, deputies initially came to the zoo because a camel allegedly bit someone, but upon arrival, they noticed suspicious odors coming from Amy’s vehicle. Amy was subsequently booked into the Crockett County Jail.
