Josh Shapiro Breaks His Silence About Trump’s Anti-Semitic Remarks
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

Pennsylvania Governor Josh Shapiro took center stage on The View today, tackling the hot-button topic of being one of the loudest voices behind the Harris-Walz ticket.

He opened up about Harris’ choice for Vice President and discussed recent anti-Semitic remarks that have made headlines.

After Shapiro’s Democratic National Convention speech in support of Harris—an address he revealed was inspired by his wife—former President Donald Trump ripped into the governor.

Trump criticized Shapiro, calling him a “highly overrated Jewish governor” and dismissing his speech, claiming Harris is anti-Israel and would hinder its survival.

Shapiro mentioned on the show he has faced numerous attacks from Trump but refuses to let them bring him down.

“I don’t get too high when folks say really great things or low when they say negative things,” the governor said. “What really angers me is that Donald Trump is failing the basic test we set as parents for our kids. Love thy neighbor, right? Treat your neighbor with respect.”

The governor also revealed Harris’ decision to potentially pick him as vice president had nothing to do with his Jewish identity.

“I said all along, she had a very personal choice, a personal decision to make in this process,” Shapiro said. “In the end, so did I, and she made the exact right pick for her. She made an outstanding pick in Tim Walz. He’s a great guy and a great friend.”

The governor highlighted Pennsylvania being a key swing state, often playing a decisive role in presidential elections, especially this election.

“Folks are fired up. It’s the energy around what happens when you put a sign on your lawn. I see a whole lot of Harris signs going up all across Pennsylvania,” Shapiro said. And let’s be clear, it’s not just in Philly and Pittsburgh. Some of these rural communities have shifted back and forth and are interested in Kamala Harris and Tim Walz.“

He said while ad campaigns and speeches are crucial for winning an election, it’s when friends, family, and neighbors say, “I support Kamala and here’s why,” people truly pay attention and get excited.

His appearance on the popular daytime talk show provided a platform for Shapiro to further connect with a national audience and emphasize his commitment to Pennsylvania’s future.
