One man’s impromptu cinematography has captivated TikTok users, who say it has “trend” potential.
A video posted to TikTok by Bia (@beatriz.casabranca) that her father took of the sea while on vacation in Croatia has gone viral. But it’s not just any video—Bia’s father faked a 360-degree video by having his wife move from one side of him to the other, imitating a full turn. Bia spoke to Newsweek about how the video went over in the family group chat, and how her dad is adjusting to TikTok fame.
“My dad went to Croatia and this is how he’s showing the views,” Bia captioned the video. “Please watch until the end…Why is it so funny?”

Bia said that the video was taken during her father and stepmom’s honeymoon. Her dad came up with the idea to shoot the landscape with his wife in the beginning and end of the video as a “funny bit,” she said.
“He sent it to the family group chat, and I was probably the only one who found it absolutely hilarious,” Bia said. “I sent it to my friends who loved it. He ended up recording a few more during the trip, because my friends and I kept asking for more.”
From the group chats to TikTok, the video grew in popularity. Bia said it’s been “crazy” to see so many people love her father’s humor—and he and his wife have some ideas about why.
“They said that the ‘youngsters are poking fun at the dinosaurs,’ but I genuinely think everyone just finds it hilarious,” Bia said.
Viewers in the comments confirmed the widespread obsession with the video—particularly giving credit to the subject of the film, Bia’s stepmother.
“She said: ‘The view starts with me and ends with me,'” @nevinktopal wrote.
“When I tell you I literally started crying from laughter,” @urfathershot_ wrote. “She is just standing there like a queen, like she wasn’t just standing on the other side. Queen indeed.”
Others noted how they didn’t expect the ending, and how the technique which leaves viewers second-guessing their vision is prime material for TikTok trend-dom.
“Your dad just started the next trend,” @pingacheese wrote.
“For a moment, I thought he was turning the camera to show himself,” @jonnelaa wrote. “I have a video of my mum doing that.”
In the comments, Bia said the fame was getting to her dad’s head: “My dad is begging me to post another video…he thinks he’s a director now,” she wrote.
Bia’s dad has already built a platform of his own on Instagram as a painter, but now he has a new venture to consider—influencing.
