A rare Dalmatian has taken the internet by storm thanks to his extraordinary heart-shaped markings and mismatched eyes.
Chloe Neff, known as @theheartdalmatians on social media, shared a heartwarming video of her unique pup, and it’s easy to see why he’s become an online sensation.
“The prettiest boy you’ll ever see,” Neff captioned the video, which quickly went viral, amassing 59.5 million views and 14.1 million likes.
The footage showcases the puppy’s playful spirit as he frolics through the grass, enjoys long walks, and bonds with his fellow Dalmatian friends. But it’s his striking appearance that truly sets him apart.
Dalmatians are known for their distinctive coat patterns, but this particular pup has a rare combination of features that make him even more special.
Dalmatians typically have white coats with black or liver-colored spots, a characteristic that has made them famous in popular culture.
However, what makes Neff’s Dalmatian stand out is his heart-shaped markings and his heterochromia—a condition in which the eyes are two different colors. He has one blue eye and one darker eye.
It’s more common in breeds such as huskies, Australian shepherds and Dalmatians.
This condition occurs when the melanin concentration in each eye differs, leading to one eye being blue and the other brown or amber. For Neff’s Dalmatian, this contrast only adds to his striking appearance.
Dalmatians are high-energy dogs that require plenty of exercise and mental stimulation to stay happy and healthy, according to the People’s Dispensary for Sick Animals (PDSA). Originally bred for endurance and stamina, they thrive on physical activity, making them well-suited for active families who can provide them with regular walks, runs, or play sessions.
