Gordon Ramsay has spoken out following his daughter Holly Ramsay’s engagement to British Olympic gold medal-winning swimmer Adam Peaty.
“Congratulations to you both ! We’re over the moon and enjoy this moment ! Welcome to the family @adam_peaty,” the celebrity chef posted underneath Holly’s engagement announcement on Instagram.

The 24-year-old shared several photos with a heartfelt caption to social media on Thursday following the proposal.
“I am marrying my best friend. I truly cannot put into words how I am feeling right now. I still remember [sic] how big my smile was the morning I got home from my first date with you,” Holly Ramsay wrote. “Thank you for letting the little girl inside of me feel loved, seen and happier than ever. I love you & I cannot wait to be your wife.”
She added: “I promise to always be there with you and George, I’m so greatful to be in his life and I cannot wait for more. Everything is better with you. Everything has been better since you. Here’s to forever. And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love. 1 Corinthians 13:13.”
At the time of publication, her post had more than 30,000 likes, and Gordon Ramsay’s remark had 545 likes. Others shared their excitement for the couple in the replies, too.
“Couldn’t be happier for you both!! I love you guys,” her sister Tilly Ramsay said.
“Oh my!!!! I’m so happy for you both! Your love makes me smile! Congratulations you beautiful humans! Xxx,” blogger Giovanna Fletcher wrote.
“Oh wow! Congratulations Holly!!” internet personality Carmen Montero Mundt shared, while DJ Will Manning posted: “holly!!!!! mega congratulations!! welcome to engaged club.”
Peaty, meanwhile, added, “🕊️🤍.”
The gold medal-winning swimmer, 29, penned a separate message to his own social media, writing, “I can’t believe you’re going to be my wife. I’m truly the luckiest man on earth to have such a gentle, caring and beautiful woman by my side. You fill my heart to the brim and give my soul peace.”
He also made a point to mention Holly Ramsay’s family. “Your family have always treated me so generously with their time, emotion and trust. I can’t wait to be joined with them too. I’ve always believed that when two people are engaged and later married that we are no longer two people but we join as one and it’s the biggest privilege to share that with you.”
The couple first met in 2021 while Peaty and Tilly Ramsay were contestants on Strictly Come Dancing, the U.K. version of Dancing With the Stars. They went public with their romance in June last year.
Englishman Peaty has a total of six Olympic medals, including three gold. He specializes in the breast stroke and has competed in the last three Olympics. Most recently, he placed second in the men’s 100-meter breast-stroke final at 2024’s Paris Olympics.
During an interview with U.K. newspaper The Times, Peaty spoke out about whether he plans to compete in the 2028 Olympics in Los Angeles.
“I’m going to stay fit and I’m going to train for two years,” he said. “But I’m going to take a break, put other things forward as a priority. It’s trying to get a balance with my work and trying to find out who I am away from sport.”
