Former President Donald Trump is holding a rally in Green Bay, Wisconsin, today alongside former NFL star Brett Favre, as his campaign continues to recover from comments made at his New York rally on Sunday. Here’s how to watch.
Trump’s running mate, Senator JD Vance, will also be holding a town hall with former Representative Tulsi Gabbard in Pennsylvania, just a few days after the campaign was condemned by both parties for comedian Tony Hinchcliffe’s joke referring to Puerto Rico as “a floating island of garbage.”
The story led to statements from several prominent Republicans and Puerto Rico officials criticizing both Hinchcliffe and the former president. Trump will be hoping to leave the controversy behind with the endorsement of former Green Bay Packers quarterback Brett Favre, who played in the NFL for 20 seasons.
Current polling has Wisconsin and the rest of the Midwest at a dead heat, with aggregates showing that Vice President Kamala Harris‘ small lead in Michigan and Pennsylvania whittled away completely in the final days of the race.
The three Midwestern swing states are vital in deciding who will win in November; Harris’ easiest path to victory involves winning all three and the second district in Nebraska, which puts her at 270 Electoral College votes.
Trump needs to win at least one of Michigan, Pennsylvania, or Wisconsin in order to win the election, hence his campaign’s focus on the Midwest today and during much of the campaign so far.

Trump’s rally in Wisconsin today is at the Resch Center in Green Bay. The venue has capacity of around 10,000 people.

According to Trump’s campaign website, the event opens doors at 2 p.m., with Trump and Favre scheduled to appear at 6 p.m.
This is later than Trump’s rallies normally start, as Trump is arriving from an earlier rally in North Carolina.

Why Does This Event Matter?
This rally comes a few days after Trump’s campaign came under fire from both Democrats and Republicans for jokes about Puerto Rico made by Tony Hinchcliffe.
Having visited a heavily Puerto Rican community in Pennsylvania yesterday, this rally is a chance to draw a line under the controversy and reset the campaign for the final stretch of the election.
Wisconsin remains one of the most important swing states this election, and a last-minute rally there is vital to Trump’s chances of rebuilding the coalition that helped him win in 2016.
