Kings Working Out Multiple Veteran Forwards Ahead of Season Start

The Sacramento Kings will look to redeem themselves in the 2024-25 season after an underwhelming 2023-24 season. After an impressive 2023 season where the Kings earned the No. 3 seed in the Western Conference, they fell short of expectations last season.

With the new season on the horizon, the Kings, led by All-Stars De’Aaron Fox and Domantas Sabonis, will look to take the next leap this upcoming season. The Kings are striving to get better, which is why they will work out three veterans forward, as the thinking camp is less than two weeks away.

According to Sam Amick, a senior NBA writer from The Athletic, the Kings will work out veteran forwards T. J. Warren, Jae Crowder, and Nassir Little.

Per sources, the Kings are working out TJ Warren this week. The 31-year-old who averaged a career-high 19.8 points for the Pacers in 2019-20 last played with Minnesota last season (11 games).

Warren, 31, has played in the NBA for 10 seasons. However, he only played in 11 games for the Minnesota Timberwolves last season. In those 11 games, Warren recorded 3.7 points per game, 0.8 assists, and 2.0 rebounds while shooting 43.9 percent from the field and 15.4 percent from three in 11.4 minutes of action.

Over the last couple of seasons, Warren has dealt with a lingering foot issue, which has limited his appearance to just 57 games over the past four seasons. His best season as a pro came with the Indiana Pacers in the 2019-20 season when he recorded 19.8 points per game, 4.2 rebounds, and 1.5 assists while shooting 53.6 percent from the field and 40.3 percent from the field in 67 games.

Crowder, 34, has played in the NBA for 12 seasons. The veteran forward played in 50 games with the Milwaukee Bucks last season, where he averaged 6.2 points, 3.2 rebounds, 1.3 assists, and 0.8 steals on 42.2 percent shooting from the field, 34.9 percent from three, and 72.2 percent on free throws.

The 34-year-old has played for the Boston Celtics, Dallas Mavericks =, Phoenix Suns, Utah Jazz, Bucks, Cleveland Cavaliers, Memphis Grizzlies, and the Maimi Heat. He is a former second-round draft pick by the Cavaliers in the 2012 NBA Draft.

Little is the other forward that the Kings will work out. Little had a brief stint with the Phoenix Suns last season, playing in 45 games. The 24-year-old has played for the Portland TarilBlaxersa and the Suns in five seasons. Little has averaged 5.5 points, 2.9 rebounds, and 0.7 assists per game.

The former North Carolina Tar Heel was selected No. 25 overall in the first round of the 2019 NBA Draft by the Trail Blazers.

The Kings will look to add some depth to their team before their season tips off on Oct. 24 against the Minnesota Timberwolves. The West is stacked with talent, and Sacramento will look to establish itself as one of the elite teams in their conference.
