LIVE UPDATES: Harris Focuses on Flipping North Carolina, Trump Heads to Arizona
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

Vice President Kamala Harris is set to make two appearances in North Carolina today as she looks to flip the state blue in November. The Democratic nominee will talk in Charlotte in the afternoon and then travel to Greensboro for an evening rally, where she will be joined by music guest Brothers Osborne. The exact timing for both rallies have not been announced.

The rallies will kick off Harris’ “New Way Forward” tour, a four-day visit through swing states with running mate Gov. Tim Walz that will also include Michigan, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin.

Walz will deliver remarks at an event in Grand Rapids, Michigan at 7 p.m. EST.

Meanwhile, former President Donald Trump will appear in Tucson, Arizona Thursday at 4 p.m. EST.

His campaign said he will “highlight Kamala Harris’ devastating policies that have wreaked havoc on Arizonans and the many reasons Hispanic voters are flocking to the Republican Party.”

Trump is then expected to head to Los Angeles for a private fundraising event in the evening, where tickets were selling for $250,000 per person, according to the Los Angeles Times.

Ohio Governor Says There’s ‘No Truth’ to Trump’s Springfield Dog-Eating Claims

Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine said that there was “no truth” to the comments made by Donald Trump during the ABC debate about migrants eating pets in Springfield.

Speaking on CNN, the Republican governor dismissed the claims as internet conspiracy theories, saying that he had spoken with the mayor of Springfield, Rob Rue, about Trump’s comments, which have become one of the viral highlights of the debate.

DeWine said: “This is something that came up on the internet, and the internet can be quite crazy sometimes. And Mayor Rue of Springfield says no, there’s no truth in that. They have no evidence of that at all. So we go with what the mayor says. He knows his city.”

President Joe Biden briefly donned a red “Trump 2024” hat during a visit to a Shanksville, Pennsylvania fire station, in what the White House described as a gesture of unity on the anniversary of the September 11 attacks.

“At the Shanksville Fire Station, @POTUS spoke about the country’s bipartisan unity after 9/11 and said we needed to get back to that,” White House senior deputy press secretary Andrew Bates posted on social media.

Donald Trump Gets Good Sign In New Poll

Former President Donald Trump has closed the gap on Vice President Kamala Harris for the first time in over a month, according to polling by The Economist/YouGov.

In the latest survey by the pollster conducted from September 8 to September 10, out of 1,626 U.S. adults, the presidential candidates were tied at 45 percent. It is the first time that Harris didn’t lead Trump in the weekly poll since July, when the former president was leading his Democratic opponent by 3 percentage points (44 percent to 41 percent) shortly after Harris entered the race.

Donald Trump’s Campaign Team Needs to Buckle Down, Experts Warn

Political pundits are warning that former President Donald Trump‘s campaign needs to quickly improve following Trump’s performance in his presidential debate with Vice President Kamala Harris.

Conservative commentator Tomi Lahren suggested on Wednesday in a post to X, formerly Twitter, that Trump requires “tough love” from advisers and a quick shift in momentum if he wants to defeat Harris.

“Trump needs some tough love from his team,” Lahren wrote. “He MUST buckle down and get to business.”
