Billionaire Mark Cuban slammed former President Donald Trump’s proposed tariffs on China while offering insights on Kamala Harris’ tax and healthcare plans during his appearance Thursday on The View.
The Shark Tank star is actively helping Harris campaign across key swing states in the final stretch of the election.
Cuban posed a scenario in which Trump wins the election in five days, warning by this time next year, families may struggle to afford Christmas presents.
“People don’t realize that most of the presents—the sporting goods, equipment, books, dresses, shoes, and knickknacks—are made in China and imported. Donald Trump says he wants to add a 60% tariff to all those items. So now, all of a sudden, those prices go up. You’re having a conversation with your spouse, saying, ‘Okay, where do we cut back?’ Because all those toys and presents we wanted to buy for the kids are now more expensive.”
Cuban continued, “Donald Trump is a Grinch trying to steal your Christmas.”

A tariff is a tax imposed by a government on imported goods and services. It is used to increase the cost of foreign products, making them less competitive compared to domestic products.
Cuban said among the 335 million people in the U.S., fewer than 4 million earn $400,000 or more. He said Harris has assured the remaining 330 million individuals tax rates will remain unchanged, while 100 million will actually experience a reduction in their rates.
“Just about every single human in this country, she’s better from a tax perspective,” Cuban said.

The Harris campaign has economic policy ideas in an 82-page policy booklet including a plan to spend $40 billion to bring down home prices, incentives for developers to build affordable housing, a $2,000-a-year cap on prescription drug costs and a dramatic expansion of the child tax credit that would immediately relieve some of the pressure on middle-class families.
Cuban highlighted the vice president has a more comprehensive healthcare plan compared to the former president. He referenced Trump’s September 10 debate with Harris, where Trump admitted he had only “concepts of a plan” for replacing the Affordable Care Act, also known as Obamacare.
House Speaker Mike Johnson said on Monday at a rally in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania that healthcare reform would be a “big part of the agenda” for a second Trump presidency. He added, “the ACA is so deeply ingrained; we need massive reform to make this work, and we have many ideas on how to achieve that.”

“Kamala Harris has been very, very specific,” Cuban said. “She has said the words, ‘I am going after the pharmacy middlemen. I am going to introduce transparency.'”
Cuban continued, “While people can talk about inflation over the last four years, what they can’t say is that the cost, the cost of Gatorade, is more important than the cost of healthcare. And Kamala Harris is the only candidate that has a specific plan that will lower your cost of medications, and then healthcare.”
Cuban said based on his experience, he thinks this will reduce medication costs for families by 20 to 30 percent or more. The billionaire also said if Harris can receive any assistance from Congress, the same principle will extend to the broader healthcare system.
