A dog owner has made an adorable discovery about why their pup is so drawn to one particular spot, and it’s melting hearts all over the internet.
The owner, who goes by @goldengirlpacha on Instagram, said their golden retriever, Bucket, has a favorite resting place: a cozy, circular chair. The post quickly garnered 265,786 likes and 20.3 million views, capturing viewers with its sweet nostalgia.
“We started to wonder why Bucket was so obsessed with this one chair,” the owner wrote. “She always wanted her big sis to cuddle with her in it, and was desperate to join whoever was in the chair; she would even bring her lil stuffies to nap with. Then we were watching some puppy videos and remembered something.”
The reason behind Bucket’s love for the chair turned out to be truly heartwarming. “Bucket climbed into the chair onto dad the very first day we brought her home. And it’s been her safe place ever since that first day,” read the text overlay in the Instagram video.
The footage shows a sweet montage of Bucket scrambling up into the chair and settling in comfortably, including a flashback to her as a baby puppy, cuddling with her dad in the very same chair.
“Bucket finally found a puppy spot that she’ll never have to grow out of,” the Instagram user captioned the video.
Dogs often become attached to specific places where they feel secure and loved, often selecting spots that carry scents of their favorite people or bring back happy memories, creating a natural sense of safety, according to a blog post on the Casper mattress website called How Dogs Choose Where They Sleep.
This natural preference for familiar, cozy areas stems from dogs’ ancestral days, when they sought sheltered spots to sleep and protect themselves from potential threats, it adds.

A cozy dog sleeps peacefully. The realization of why the pop chose his favorite spot melted hearts online.
Dog lovers couldn’t get enough of the adorable scene.
“The chair looks insanely comfy; that’s not a mystery,” commented one viewer.
“Oh. My. Soooo adorable,” said another.
“SO CUTE,” added a third user.
