Whoopi Goldberg Slams Trump’s Dancing During Town Hall: ‘He Freaked Me’
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

The hosts of The View slammed former President Donald Trump for his performance during a Pennsylvania Town Hall on Monday, when he entertained the crowd by dancing and DJing for several minutes while two attendees required medical assistance.

“This freaked me out,” co-host Whoopi Goldberg said during Tuesday’s episode. “He freaked me out a lot, but this really upset me.”

The former president attended the town hall in Oaks, Pennsylvania, moderated by South Dakota Governor Kristi Noem. Proceedings were paused while two attendees received medical attention, at which point Trump jokingly asked whether “anybody else would like to faint?” He then said: “Let’s not do any more questions. Let’s just listen to music. Who the hell wants to hear questions, right?”

Co-host Alyssa Farah Griffin said she’s concerned future history books may highlight President Joe Biden‘s age and the concerns surrounding another term, while overlooking the fact Trump is “flying under the radar.”

“I could joke about it all day, but it’s serious. This is, this is not even the man I worked for who had all sorts of problems then,” Griffin said. “There’s a very real decline.”

The town hall took place after Kamala Harris questioned Trump’s mental cognizance at a rally in Pennsylvania on Monday, branding her White House rival “unstable” and “unhinged.”

“The guy doesn’t know the difference between a rally or whatever that was, and Dancing with the Stars,” co-host Joy Behar said. “He is so demented now he has no idea what reality is.”

Co-host Sunny Hostin suggested, rather than playing music, Trump could have shown greater empathy toward the attendees who needed assistance.

“It was very hot in there [at the townhall], maybe address the issue of climate change,” Hostin said. “You know, why is it so so hot right now? Maybe say something about healthcare.”

Harris responded to the specific moment from Trump’s recent rally in Pennsylvania, where the former president’s actions puzzled some viewers.

Harris issued a response, writing bluntly on X: “Hope he’s okay.” Her tweet was accompanied by a video of Trump swaying on stage posted by the Harris-Walz HQ account.

On the other hand, campaign spokesman Steven Cheung wrote on X, “Total lovefest at the PA townhall! Everyone was so excited they were fainting so @realDonaldTrump turned to music. Nobody wanted to leave and wanted to hear more songs from the famous DJT Spotify playlist!”

He added “something very special is happening in Pennsylvania” as the scene unfolded, writing that Trump “is unlike any politician in history, and it’s great.”

The songs played included ‘An American Trilogy’ by Elvis Presley, ‘Nothing Compares 2 U’ from Sinéad O’Connor, the Village People’s iconic ‘YMCA’ and ‘Memory’ from the Andrew Lloyd Webber musical Cats.
