Bad Blood 2024 was filled with exciting moments, ranging from CM Punk and Drew McIntyre’s iconic Hell in a Cell match to the return of Roman Reigns.
Another shocking spot came during the Women’s World Championship match between Liv Morgan and Rhea Ripley where “Dirty” Dominik Mysterio was raised into the air in a shark cage.
Partway through the match, Mysterio fell out of the cage, dangling from a chain attached to his ankle. Naturally, Ripley took advantage of this moment, beating Mysterio in the air with a kendo stick.
While this proved to be a cathartic experience for Ripley and the crowd, Mysterio still looks back on the moment negatively.

In a recent interview with Christ Van Vliet, Mysterio relived the traumatizing incident, stating that it was unintended and not originally planned.
“Well, it was supposed to keep me just in the cage,” Mysterio said. “Yeah, it wasn’t supposed to, I don’t know what was supposed to go down, but that was supposed to just keep me in the cage so I didn’t leave and, I didn’t mess with the match or do anything. But yeah, it was definitely traumatizing. I was up there for a long time.”
Mysterio further elaborated on how surreal it was to be treated like “some caged animal.”
“Yeah, it was very surreal too, because I remember I would try to get up and just the movement of the cage, everything was just freaking crazy,” Mysterio continued. “Everyone was yelling things at me too, like I’m some caged animal. People are rude.”
Apparently, the WWE is rude as well since they are currently selling toilet paper with “Dirty” Dom’s face on it.
Mysterio wasn’t always so hated in the WWE. He originally made his debut as a child when Rey Mysterio and Eddie Guerrero wrestled in a ladder match over custody of Dominik in 2005.

15 years later, Mysterio made his in-ring debut at SummerSlam in a loss against Seth Rollins. Soon afterward, he would team with his father in a tag team and win the SmackDown Tag Team Championships.
However, Mysterio would eventually turn on the legendary Rey Mysterio and join the Judgement Day alongside Finn Bálor, Damian Priest, and Ripley, beginning a relationship with the dominant Australian.
Operating as a singles wrestler, Dominik would go on to win the NXT North American Championship twice before he, Bálor, JD McDonagh, and Carlito joined Liv Morgan and turned on Priest and Ripley.
